Fall favorites at This Curvy Life

I have been asked every day what are my favorite things about fall and so I gave it some thought and wanted to share with you what makes fall special to me. Whether it is travel, or a seasonal drink (sorry no pumpkin spice fan lives here, lol), or just being with friends, fall is a time of year to enjoy and look forward to. So here are a few of my favorites!

  1. The leaves changing – How gorgeous is this! The deep golds, reds, and orange are amazing to me. I am an original Miami girl and we only have Summer so when I saw leaves change I was mesmerized. Fall Leaves
  2. The scents change – Have you noticed how the scents promoted in stores change from a sweeter smell to a spicier note. As a child, I did not appreciate it, but now I see the beauty in the spicier scents and I notice how retailers do the same. In Bath and Body Works I noticed how many scents had a seasonal name or scent.

Autumn woods, Leaves and other fall things 🙂

  3. Traveling to the mountains – I love the Blue Ridge Mountains. I have traveled there for over 15 years and for the last 5 at least they have been in the fall. The homes are beautiful, the area is very quiet and I can get in touch with my thoughts and rest completely there. Blue Ridge Mountain Cabin
  4. Apple Picking! – This is a tradition among my friends, we all trudge up to the mountains and go to various orchards to pick apples. It really is about bonding and enjoying the scenery with friends. They are memories you will cherish forever. Friends apple picking
  5. Having friends over! I loooooove entertaining and one of the things I have started lately is having “Frozen” Night. I am a Disney fiend and I love the movie Frozen. I invite all my friends who feel the same and we have cold themed foods like grilled cheese, chili, hot apple cider and hot cocoa and turn the movie into a sing-along It is one of my favorite things!

There are so many things that you can appreciate about any time of year and as these go by and life brings its various challenges I have learned to take time and treasure the better things of life. So now its your turn, share your fall favorites in the comments. Maybe you will remember something that will make you super excited that fall is here 🙂

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons. Winter is my favourite, probably because I was born in Winter haha. Love when the leaves change their colours and when it rains and ah, candles.

Same here, we are pretty warm in Atlanta until November. Gonna look for some cute sweaters in the meantime in between time 🙂

This list made me even MORE excited for Fall!!! Oh, and I love the Frozen Night idea. What a great group of pals you must have. I’m excited to decorate my home for the season, drink apple cider, and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters! Enjoy the season!!!

I’m on the other side of the world so we are in spring. I look forward to summer !! I have some friends who say Christmas is really different, perhaps more enjoyable, when you experience it during winter.

I have not thought about how it is different based on where you are in the globe. I love Spring. So pretty new flowers 🙂

Yeeey for Autumn! I just love it! From colours and whether to fall fashion and foods – nothing like a warm pumpkin soup!

Visiting the mountains sounds fun! In my hometown the autumn leaves look so pretty.

I’m a big fan of summertime and because fall means summer is going away it has always been my least favorite season with all the cold and wet weather. However, it’s sure true that the colors of nature are gorgeous at the moment. Fall also gives a good reason to light a candle and stay indoors with a hot chocolate. 🙂

Autumn is my favourite time of the year hands down. I love the colours and the chilly air and the get-togethers with friends. I’m not sure crazy about Frozen but I’m totally stealing this idea for a movie-night with a difference 😉

I am excited for all things Fall, although I would like it a little more if it would get a little cooler and have some more changing colors on the foliage here. Doesn’t happen too much where I am at. I do love apple picking though. Just did it with my daughter and it was a lot of fun.

That sounds so wonderful. I am missing my dad so much since I lost him. I love to hear of fathers making those memories with their daughters.
