Top tips for Sensitive Skincare

Top tips for Sensitive Skincare

Are you like me and have sensitive skin? Sometimes it can be the absolute worst, but just in case you have sensitive skin issues like I do when it comes to face wash and moisturizers and even deodorants, this post is just for you!

I have struggled with sensitive skin more as an adult than I did as a teen. I primarily have it when it comes to my face. Since the weather has changed I have noticed that my routine is actually working and my breakouts have not been as frequent, after a few weeks and even through hormonal changes my skin stayed pretty stable and that made me want to share this with you to see if it helps you as well. Only one product I am sharing is for sensitive skin so if you don’t have these issues awesome! The products can work for you too! None of this is sponsored, I just love sharing a good thing.

Now, I am not sure about you but my face cannot handle a lot of washing. Unfortunately, if I wash my face every day I get small abrasions so I try not to scrub it too much. Some days I just wash with warm water. I am not a daily makeup wearer, but when I do, Neutrogena’s Night calming makeup removing wipes work well as they are not harsh and do not dry out my skin. This Curvy Life Sensitive Skin RoutineFor days when I can wash my face, I use Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin C Camu Camu Powder. It is a face wash and an exfoliator. It is wonderful because I can use it with my hands and my face gets clean. A little goes a long way, the more water used the less exfoliating properties it has. So put a nickel sized amount in your hand and it works up into a very rich lather. It does strip a little if you use it too long, so figure out which amount of lathering time is enough for your skin. It is not the most affordable but it is definitely worth each cent so when it goes on sale I buy it quickly. Keep your eyes on my IG stories as I post it there and on Snapchat when it does.

I am a new lover of L’Occitane. I actually did not know they had a skincare line so when I tried a sample of their light moisturizer I flipped out at how it made my skin feel so soft and renewed and so moisturized but not heavy in the least! L’Occitane Comforting Shea Butter Light moisturizer is a gem. Doesn’t clog my pores and makes my skin feel so soft. I think you will love it.

From time to time I do use a Clarisonic to wash my face and I utilize L’Occitane Ultra Gentle Face Soap to clean my skin. A little goes a long way and it does not dry my skin and is the absolute perfect pairing for the moisturizer above. I keep mine in my shower as it comes in a convenient container that allows the bar to stay dry and last much longer.

Finally, let’s talk deodorant! During the fall and winter months, I switch from antiperspirants to deodorants to give my skin a break. Unfortunately, many natural deodorants use baking soda as an ingredient and surprise surprise, I have sensitive skin issues in the dag on armpits! So I stumbled across a suggestion on The Friendzone Podcast for Lone Deodorant. I love their lavender scented deodorant and they have plenty other scents. They are strong enough to not need to be reapplied during the day and easily wash off in the shower.

I know that having sensitive skin can be a bit of a chore at times, but every now and then we do find a product that can help our skin thrive! I hope the ones that have helped me will also help you. If you have found products that help your skin thrive, share them in the comments below!!

They have been helpful for me so I had to share. I am happy because this was not sponsored, I just knew I wasn’t the only one with sensitive skin and I have been searching for products that worked for over a year! Hope they work for you too.

Thanks for the tips! I’m a fan of L’Occitane’s 25% Shea butter hand cream for my Winter hands, but I have not tried their face cream. I will check it out!

Wonderful suggestions Danie! My skin is normal to dry but sometimes it can be sensitive, depending on the weather. I haven’t used any L’occitane product so far, i think it’s time to have a better look at their skincare line.

I love how many different kinds they have and that they seem to always include sensitive skin which is a trouble spot for me. I had no idea they had a line either but I’m so glad I found it and my face is thanking me too!

Thanks fot these tips dear! I have sensitive skin too and currently I am using a serum from Afrodita cosmetics. Have you tried with serums? They go much deeper into skin and they are absolutely useful!

I also struggle with sensitive skin and a lot of products irritate my skin or I end up with random spots. I will look more into these products and hopefully I can find some that work great for me as well.

Thanks so much for checking it out. I had no idea that sensitive skin could be in your under arm area so this deodorant helped me a lot!

I have sensitive skin as well and had to try many creams and products until I found my own favourites. L’Occitane is a great brand! But since mid-2017 I use camomile tea and coconut oil to keep my routine easy and natural at the same time.I do add some cosmetics into the mix, but have been trying to slowly increase the usage of natural ingredients.

So happy that you have found a routine that works for your sensitive skin! Skin can be so finicky, and can change so drastically because of geographical and seasonal changes, and even habits (water temperature, air con, food intake, sleep, stress etc. I’m fairly lucky with my skin. It’s not that sensitive and is pretty low maintenance, but that all changes when the dry winter weather hits! I find LUSH’s Celestial moisturiser has been perfect to get rid of my redness while also giving my skin moisture without over doing it 🙂

I have sensitive skin myself, so usually I avoid using many products at all. I tend to use baking soda as a facewash and witch hazel as a toner. I may check these products out though!

Make up removing wipes are my absolute go-to for my nighttime routine. I’ve never tried the neutrogena brand wipes. I’ll have to check them out the next one I’m at the drugstore. I love your post this is so informative. Thanks for sharing!
