This weekend many of your favorite plus sized bloggers were at The Curvy Fashionista’s TCF Expo, I couldn’t go thru 5 posts on IG without seeing #tcfexpo and images of beautiful women dressed to the nines and sharing their experience during this weekend of shopping, networking, and knowledge sharing. The part that I want to focus the most on is the bloggers mastermind day, which took place the day before the expo and was hosted by TCF’s founder Marie Deene, who is an OG in the plus size blogging game. So what was covered in the mastermind day? What would I like to see added to future sessions? What is my takeaway from the whole event? Note, if you did not attend this particular event, most mastermind classes follow these patterns so you can apply this to more than one event!
First, I have to say the audience who came to the mastermind day are at all different levels of the blogging game. Some literally just starting blogging and some big time in the game so all are welcome at this event. I would say that this mastermind day is a bootcamp for newer bloggers with a few great pointers for established bloggers including:
- Content management
- WordPress vs other tools
- Content ideas
- when and what to post
- Blogger resources
- Canva
- Webmaster tools
- SEO tools
- How to monetize your blog
- Affiliate links
- navigating sponsored offers
The most helpful portion for me was the 2 additional speakers that were at the event MediaVine and Chante Burkett. These women were here for 1 purpose, to break down your ability to earn once you reach a certain level. One was speaking from the blogger’s perspective and the other from a corporate perspective. I loved both, absolutely. I loved that there were only 2 guest speakers during the day. When events have a lot of speakers it makes the day more confusing especially if you are a new blogger. Marie is not new, she knows what she is doing and she can speak to so many aspects of the game. This is who you want to learn from…People doing it, not people wishing they were.

That sounds like a decent itinerary. I’ve always wanted to attend a blogging conference.

They are a lot of fun. Try checking out MeetUp and Eventbrite for events in your area or join a Collective, they are great for those types of events.
I love the sound of this event and so wish that there were more bloggers events where I am! I’m so jealous hearing about all the blogging networking opportunities. I need to make more of an effort to travel to some – they sound like so much fun! π Charlie xo

There are probably who feel the same way in your town. Check out MeetUp to see if they have any coming soon π
Sounds like a lovely event! Itβs been such a long time since Iβve been to any events, perhaps after I begin at school everything starts to fall at their places & I have more time π

That will be great Jasmin. It’s always great to interact with other bloggers and get your blog out there.
Sounds like an amazing event! Thanks for sharing these tips!

It was great. Thanks for checking out the post.
I’ve never attended an event for bloggers. But it seems like a great opportunity. I get that it’s hard finding something that’s a perfect fit. Of course you don’t want to go over really remedial stuff if you have some experience. And you don’t want something too advanced if you’re still growing.

Yeah, it definitely had content that I was aware of but hopefully next year they will have 2 parts. You can definitely give info relevant to the experience level. Even though I knew a lot of what was being shared their were valid points and it was a wonderful event. I would go again.
Sounds like a really great event for new coming blogger or ones who have done it for a while. You can always learn something new.
When I started blogging in 2013 I attended a masterclass like this and it was fun learning experience. I get to meet a lot of bloggers too both pro and newbies like me. I hope there will be something like this near our place soon. π

They may have them via Meetup in a lot of areas. Maybe you will find one near you! I agree that they are great for networking with bloggers! thanks for checking out my post
Sounds like a great networking opportunity (even if most of the content was geared towards bloggers just starting out)! I totally agree with you that limiting the amount of speakers makes more of an impact. Anything over 3 and I’m like, “wait what did that one say again?!”

I really loved that they limited the speakers. I totally agree with you it can be too much. they did a great job!
This is a great opportunity for bloggers. I wish there was something like this when I was starting to blog. Such guidance will surely help.
