Last Friday I decided to take a day for myself to recharge and reflect. That day turned into the self-care weekend, so I decided to share with you. Maybe you can see a need for a moment for yourself and what that can look like for you…
Last week was hectic and frustrating for me. I felt like I could not get things done properly. I felt misunderstood at work and very alone socially. When I get like this now, I stop and restart. One of my favorite quotes from Myliek Teele is, “Feelings are not facts”. I get deep in my pity party and need a hard reset to get my mind right so I am focused on giving thanks instead of feeling sorry for myself. First thing I had to do was invite my girlfriends come over to watch our favorite show, Scandal.
The next day, I called my mom and asked her to meet me for brunch (my favorite meal) at my favorite restaurant in Atlanta (Murphy’s)
then I was going to take Barkley to Lenox park and enjoy her silly self and write for the blog the rest of the evening. That is exactly what we did. It was so wonderful. I love the park, all the green and water is so calming to me. I found a great quote that I had to share with you!Β
The weekend really went like that. Friends and quality time away from the stress with an injection of positivity, lots of laughing, and love, I am ready for the week. I love brunch and conversation so here are a few of my fave pix from another place, Bread and Butterfly in Inman Park.along with a little champagne to celebrate This Curvy Life being 6 months old!
I hope that you will take some time for yourself, to x out the negative thoughts, and see the beauty in that perspective. Love yourself, so you can pour love on others.
Till next time,
xo Danie
Share your email address with me and I will send you the best of This Curvy Life including must-have info on travel, style and self-care!Β

Love it! Enjoy your vacation Anissa!
I loved this! Self care is so important, and I know I’ve been neglecting mine for awhile. Self care to me is spending an hour or two a day doing something to decompress, either reading a book, scrapbooking, or some other form of craft. I’m a much better wife and mother if I do this for me.

That sounds wonderful. I love how it looks different for each person. My mother takes a long bath each day. It is her time for herself. Being a mom is hard work and I appreciate that you do something for yourself, it makes you a better and happier person!
This post is filled with so much joy, it is amazing. Taking care of yourself is important and it is often misconstrued as selfishness-which is the total opposite. We all deserve some self-loving βΊοΈ
nothing more than relaxation and positivity with life from the right set of friends and family

such inspiring self-care, delicious meal :)), great post!
I really love this post. There are so many times where I get so overwhelmed, yet I have never thought of a “self care” day. Instead, I would turn to sleeping it off. Definitely will have to treat myself a little more! Thanks for sharing π
