London eats!

My girlfriends and I took a trip to Paris last year. I don’t believe in going to Paris without going to London since they are such a short trip away from each other (2 hours on Eurostar) so we went to London first and literally kept going from the time the plane landed. I have to say the first time I visited London, I did not enjoy the food nor did I have a very fun time. The main reason for this was I came to London the day after Prince William got married and the whole city was basically shut down. Thankfully this time no one royal was getting married so the city was buzzing and more fun than I could have anticipated.

I stayed at the Melia London White House which was super convenient to the train. Behind the train station is the best Mediterranean restaurant called Cafe Istanbul Bistro. Their falafel is to die for. If you can’t get to my random Bistro lol go straight to Borough Market. The food was beautifully presented and very good!

I have to say the best food we had on the go was in Leicester Square. When you get there find a place called the Spaghetti house. Look my friend, do yourself the favor and go there. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. We ordered every different type of food and everything was spectacular!Fair warning, most restaurants outside of the US do not take kindly to people asking for extras or changing their meals. A friend with me did not know that and well I will let you see the difference in what she was presented with LOL!!!

The sad Great Value Shrimp my friend was presented with when she asked for a side of shrimp. When I tell you I laughed the rest of the meal! Honey I am still laughing!

As far as experience in London goes, I would always think of Tea so we had tea at the Orangery at Kensington Palace. The tea was unlike anything I had ever had and who wouldn’t want the opportunity to have a proper tea.

There is plenty to do in London other than eat, but hey I love a great meal and some of the best conversations and memories happen during meals so I hope these places will be as great for you as they were for me. Maybe I will dedicate another #tbt to London activities but for now, I am gonna scroll back up and laugh at my friend’s sad shrimp. LOLLLLL!

The double header sounds like a great way to enjoy two of the most beautiful and yet so different cities in Europe! Well done! It’s unfortunate that the timing of your visit to London was not the best. Your pictures sure show that you made the most of it anyway!

I love the spaghetti dish and first time I’ll be in London, I’ll be looking to taste them too. I live only two hours from London and hope that will happen soon. Your photos are great.
