Whole 30 – Day 1 – 4…What the heck

Whole 30 – Day 1 – 4…What the heck

After over 6 months of not paying attention to my health by eating fast food for most meals and occasionally working out, but not sticking with it long enough to see results, I decided I was tired of being physically uncomfortable and tired of letting time go by while I don’t live the life I really want. What can I do about it? A few months ago, I tried Whole 30 and noticed an improvement in how I felt but for some reason (I promise you I can’t even remember the last 6 months enough to tell you) I didn’t finish my 30 days. I did note that I stayed with it long enough to notice that I was feeling better which is an odd thing for me. Usually when I try a diet, I generally just feel annoyed. I am annoyed that I am on a diet and I am annoyed that I don’t have the ability to eat what I want and look how I want, it’s the HEIGHT OF RUDENESS!Β  All that being said I decided to go full steam ahead with Whole 30. This would allow 2 things to happen. One for me to prove to myself that I can control my eating and 2, it would allow me to fully get in touch with my body; learn what it needs, what it doesn’t and what makes me operate at my full potential. Who doesn’t want that? Plus if I can lose some of the bloating and a few pounds I am a triple winner! So over the next 30 days I will share whats going on with Whole 30. I think this will help me stay accountable to you guys and will help me keep a little journal of what is happening. All that said lets get on with it!

Day 1 aka Now what is happening here and why am I so hungry! – I am sticking to this plan to a t. I didn’t go grocery shopping for the majority of the month yet but I have a few things so I thought I would be good to go. Not exactly, I am hungry EVERY TWO HOURS. I am like a newborn baby needing to eat every minute. I don’t like it, especially cuz I can’t have the food I actually want to eat! I don’t really wanna do anything. I just watched the DVR most of the night and was happy to go to bed.

Day 2 aka You stink and I feel like I am gonna pass out – So quick disclaimer, I have an anxiety issue that makes it difficult for me to deal with changes so if my reaction seem odd, they aren’t for me. I had to take Barkley to the vet this morning and grabbed mixed vegetables, and fruit with me as I had to go to my Bible Study right after I dropped her off. When I got there it was 9 am I was hungry and in spite of what I ate, pretty impatient. I stopped at the store to buy a few snacks including a pressed juice and got to the Kingdom hall in time. While I was sitting there, my stomach was a mess and I felt so anxious I could have run thru the wall to get away. I only made it through half of the meeting and left. Once I got home I felt like someone ran over me. I was hungry, had a headache and was unhappy. With all this said I am not new to the idea of the need of a detox period so I am full speed ahead.

Day 3 aka Farmers market or bust! – I scoured Whole 30’s website, including their recipes IG and made a full list of things I wanted to make. I figured since it was Labor Day no one would be there, surely everyone is bbqing! No ma’am! Everyone is at the Farmer’s market testing my Xanax dosage. Welp thankfully my headphones and Ariana Grande’s new album got me thru it and back to my house. I was really impressed with the idea of component meal prep shared in Whole 30’s IG stories…Basically instead of making a set number of meals for the week, prepare general components that would help you make multiple meals. For mine I roasted sweet potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, broiled some fingerling potatoes, and prepped some cauliflower to be cauliflower rice. It took a while but was a great help from the start the next day. Thankfully my crazy hunger was gone, I did need to eat at least every 4 hours. Fine with me after all this work! Tired and satisfied with my efforts, I went to bed.Whole 30 Component meal prepDay 4 aka am I on a roller coaster? – Food wise everything went fine. I cooked each meal at home and each meal’s preparation went quickly as I used my components to make them. However by the end of the day, I was super tired, and super not interested in doing anything. What happened? Not sure. Welp after useless googling about peoples experiences with Whole 30 I decided to write this post and will need to go to bed soon. I’m sleepy early for a change! Maybe my 2 am sleep times are in the past.

Welp that’s it for now! Day 4 is done! I hope this info helped if you are doing Whole 30 or supporting someone who is! I will do a post on days 5 – 10 soon, if you are doing Whole 30 or are interested in doing it lemme know in the comments. Maybe we can be Whole 30 boos.
